Art Thru A Lens: Week 17

With a three day week at work you would think that I had a nice relaxing week............hahaha! Nick has started his new job and we have been in our business each night tidying things up (and finishing cars) hence we have been absolutely exhausted.

I am hoping this afternoon to get out and finish my pictures for Akubras and Berets (& Caps!). The topic picked by my dear M-I-L this month should have been extremely easy and any other month I would have had dozens of photos to chose from but this month when I have been out and about I have not either had my trusted D800 with me or I have not been where I wanted to be. Lets hope she picks an indoor topic next month or at least one that can be either indoor or outdoor (hint hint hint).

Yesterday however I did manage to sit down for the afternoon and start my travel journal which I am rather pleased with so far. I don't doubt I will draw or write something I am not happy with (my OCD perfectionist coming out) however that is what I am trying to get over. I think thats why I love photography so much it is easier to capture exactly what you see than the imperfection of drawing. But it is the imperfections that make each drawing perfect. Hmmmm thats a nice sentiment wonder if I can make myself believe that ;). I will once I get back into the groove of my artistic self put some items up but till now this one will do.

Week 17 | Create

I did enjoy reliving my first visit to London and have a lot more things to put in there so what I thought would be a one page may end up a couple of pages. I did enjoy the water colours though which is not a medium I have used before for any length of time and will take a bit of getting used to but practice makes perfect. (Hmmmm again another sentiment I wonder if I can make myself believe!)
