Brisbane

I have never been to Brisbane. You would think that most people would have travelled around Australia by the time they reach my age but although I have been blessed to have trips overseas I have not ventured much around our great country.

I was at the National VET Conference for work and with our wedding anniversary on the Saturday Nick flew up on Friday so we could spend the weekend together. We met some lovely people for dinner on Friday night which started off with a bottle of bubbles (Moet of course darling) and ended with me walking barefoot back to the hotel with a very patient guide. The dinner and company was excellent and we are both looking forward to doing it again.

Saturday saw me with a very bad head and took quite a while to get up and about but with the gorgeous sunshine I couldn't help myself and we were out by 11 walking around the city and gardens. Brisbane is extremely relaxed compared to Melbourne I don't think I saw anyone rushing around at all. Everything seems to move at a much more sedate pace.

In the gardens on numerous occasions we were lucky to keep seeing blue tongued lizards but one in particular sat and watched me take photos for a good 10 minutes.

First views of Brisbane

The National VET Conference - They must have known giving me a pink bag

Could not get enough of these blue skies

Shadows caught my eye

I was lucky enough to hear Li Cunxin speak - extremely moving motivational speaker

Now this is what I call a hot chocolate - it was decadent and I am glad I didn't order lunch

This is Brisbane's version of a mocca - more chocolate than coffee - yum

Dinner Friday with some fantastic new friends a very enjoyable evening

The morning after - it was a very good night

We kept seeing these little chaps everywhere

At Southbank loving the sunshine
