New Years Day 2015

I always find New Years resolutions are extremely hard to keep. Last year I made it goals and I was very happy yesterday to finish my main one of the year. Complete a 365 photo a day project and to blog once a week (I can never hear that word without hearing Hank Moody's 'bloooooog' - much like Joey's 'how you doing').

Yay done and dusted and ticked off the list. Time to up the anti for 2015 as I was a little disappointed in myself with the fact that not all of the photos were up to my standard. So I set myself the following for 2015:

Word - Mindfulness
To be in the present moment at all times

Mindset - Stop Breathe Relax
To negate my stressful work life as soon as I feel any negativity I will Stop Breathe and Relax

Mantra - I let go
I need to let go of a lot this year - past hurts, negativity, stress

Knowledge - Level 1 Reiki
To broaden my meditation and peacefulness

Vitality - Be healthy
To always take the healthy option with food and to move

Creativity - 365 Photo A Day
To complete another 365 project without using my iPhone and to put them all into a photo book at the end of the year

Creativity - Weekly Photo
So that I get to use my 'big girl' camera Nick is setting me a weekly topic so that I have to use my D800, learn my flash and explore more in Photoshop

Week 1 of my 52 is Black and White which I found for the first topic a bit daunting. I can turn any photo into a black and white through PS so what will I actually take a photo of? I went back to my standard and took myself to the florist. Nick and I had a fun evening when we split a stem of a white flower and put it in two glasses of coloured water to see the petals turn red and green.

I like the softness in this photo it looks gentle and it was a true black and white - white flower on black background.
