Week 16 | 2014

4 days in Singapore and 2 days travelling was the extent of my week. Everyone thinks 'oh you travel for work that must be so exciting' and although I hate to burst everyones bubble I am glad I do not travel as much as some of my work companions do. During the day you spend at the office or in meetings that you have set up and at night when you get back to your hotel you sit and work on everything that desperately needs your attention that has happened in your own office. Sometimes I feel emails and mobile phones are an enemy. It is great to be able to keep in contact with people across the world either for business or pleasure however we have become a slave to the 24/7 contactablility when it comes to our work.

There are some parts of my job that I cannot get away from even on holidays and am glad that Nick has put into place a 1 hour time limit in the morning and evening to check emails otherwise it would be too easy for me to have no holiday at all. Luckily for me I have a good team that assists to ensure they only contact me in an extreme emergency other than the authorisations.

Week 16 | Child

I have this week been thinking of children whether it is because of this weeks topic or the fact that I had an idea of getting some waistcoats for our cats (Nick is taking out hospital insurance on me first given that Vodka is extremely temperamental and would be prone to slashing my throat!). Not having anyone around that has small children and no grandchildren on the horizon one of my most vivid memories of my own three was them leaving lego on the floor for me to stand on (and inevitably there would always be one piece they would miss in their packing up!).

Day 104 | Dirty

Day 105 | I am reading

 Day 106 | My vice

 Day 107 | Something I learned

Day 108 | Good

Day 109 | Money

 Day 110 | Egg
