Week 40 | 2014

This week I changed my lifestyle. Having had dietary problems for the past 12 months which started with a fairly invasive operation October last year I have struggled with getting both my fitness and my health back to what it was.

On Monday I decided to go 'Paleo' (for want of any better term) and with Nick away in Sydney it was a good chance to 'detox' and see if I could clear up all these problems. I took a fairly simple attitude as it was just me cooking and I only ate fruit, vegetables and protein with good oils for the week. My only cheat was two lattes per day (you really don't want to see me without my caffeine) but other than that I drank only water (yes goodbye Redbull).

The end result of this was I lost 2.5 kilos and stayed awake till 10.30 each night and I honestly feel so much better. I had a nice glass of bubbly at yesterday lunch but I stuck to my 'rules' and still managed to enjoy a meal out.

I am not saying this is life changing and everyone should do it. It has worked for me for a week and I will continue to see how I go. I have certainly had more energy this week and feel better within myself and I may as I go on start adding things back in and see how my body reacts one at a time.
